Intravenous antibiotics may be given before your operation to combat infection.

Consult with your anesthetist about the best option for your particular situation.

  • You may have your knee numbed (using "local" anesthesia) along with intravenous sedation to relax you

  •  
  • Undergo a Spinal Block
    (called "regional" anesthesia)

  •  
  • Or elect to go to sleep
    ("General Anesthesia")
